Academies at GBSD believes that some of the most impressionable learning occurs outside the walls of the traditional classroom. Field trips help create an environment that appeals to and speaks to a diverse community with varying needs and styles of learning. Field trips help ensure that students develop a greater awareness and understanding of the world around them. We try to allow for a fair balance between General and Judaic Studies trips.
Starting in Kindergarten, each grade will participate in approximately two to three field trips annually to local farms, businesses, museums and cultural events and amazing overnight trips to rich cultural locations like TEVA (Jewish environmental education program), and Washington, DC. Students experience at Academies at GBDS is culminated by an ultimate field trip to Israel, the experiential growth is evident during this transformative two+ weeks trip to Israel that our Eighth Graders take in the spring of their graduating year.
